LiRE April Updates
May breakfast with Wedlake Bell, mock incubator for emerging managers, and more!
Hi all,
Thanks to everyone who has joined as a paying or corporate member! Your support is helping us grow as a true global community!
LiRE Membership
As we’ve launched lots of new initiatives that are becoming increasingly popular, many of them will be going behind the paywall. What that means is the monthly subscribers (£5/ mo) will see the full newsletter and have priority access to register to all of our events before the free subscribers do.
For any initiatives requiring an application form (mentorship, investment club programmes, etc.), you will need an Annual membership or above (£120/ yr) or be part of a corporate membership at any tier. If any questions, please email me on adina@ladiesinrealestate.co.uk. If you are unemployed or a student, I’m happy to help you out, just get in touch! Recap of membership tiers below. To join as a corporate member, please fill out the onboarding form available on our website here and email it to me.
LiRE Committee
We have grown as our initiatives have also multiplied! So once again wanted to give a shoutout to Emily Chandler from Mishcon de Reya (leading LiRE Champions), Rebecca Plant from CBRE (leading Meet the CEO & WhatsApp queries), Issie Thorneycroft from JLL (leading our monthly London breakfasts), and Sophia Clarke from Grosvenor (leading the LiRE Investment Club). Get to know them here. I’m not taking on any additional support just yet, but will let you know via the newsletter when I do!
LiRE Community Videos
I’m pausing filming these until June as I will be away from London, but will share dates for new interviews soon. We post more content on our other socials as well: TikTok and Instagram.
This month we caught up with Jacqui Collins, founder of Blend, who is innovating in how we work via fractional leadership opportunities. You may be familiar with Jacqui from her impressive work with the Urban Land Institute.
We also chatted with Polly Burn, who runs her own consulting practice, about the challenges of how we are perceived when we launch our own businesses after a long time within a large corporate organisation/ backed by a big brand. How can we change that perception?
Member Spotlights
Speaking of portfolio careers, Jo Winchester has recently launched her own business as a co-living consultant & executive coach. She is someone I admire and value greatly on a professional and personal level, so do encourage you to get to know her and find ways to work with Jo. More from Jo:
I am passionate about co-living as a much needed housing typology aimed at single professionals, so my aim is to help developers achieve their goals in getting planning and funding for co-living schemes. Demand studies for pre-apps and full planning applications, commentary for use within strategy papers and helping to educate stakeholders are some examples of how I could work with clients. Please email jo@jowinchester.com to set up an initial chat if you are active in the co-living space and would like to explore how we could work together.
After qualifying as an Executive Coach in 2023 (after coaching a number of LIRE members during training – you know who you are!!) I specialise in working with real estate professionals to achieve their career and life goals. My coaching style is a combination of business and life coaching – familiar scenarios being working towards promotion, developing leadership style, challenges following redundancy, or achieving greater fulfilment. Whatever your goals, a coaching conversation could make all the difference to achieving them.If you’d like to explore whether coaching could be for you, please do contact me.
